- About 45% said Musk’s political actions have had a “negative” effect.
- Another 40% felt these actions were “extremely negative.”
- Only 3% thought it was a good thing for Tesla.
- A brave 12% labeled the impact as “insignificant.”
As if that wasn’t enough to make investors sweat, many participants are also expecting a dip in Tesla deliveries this year. In fact, 59% anticipate fewer deliveries than last year, and 21% think the drop will be more than 10%. That’s a whole lot of pessimism!
What’s Behind the Numbers?
Musk’s rise in the political scene has some folks questioning if this is the right move for Tesla, especially after he stepped into that role leading efforts to cut down on government waste, dubbed the Department of Government Efficiency (or DOGE, how fitting!). Critics are worried that his fast-paced approach might be hurting Tesla’s reputation.
Just this past Monday, Musk himself admitted that juggling his high-profile role in politics while managing Tesla, along with his other ventures like X and SpaceX, is no walk in the park. Perhaps that’s why Tesla’s stock recently took a nosedive of more than 15%—its worst day since 2020.

Despite the stormy weather on the stock front, there’s a hint of optimism too. Around 45% of survey respondents still expect Tesla shares to rise at least 11% by the end of the year. But then, 36% foresee more losses—talk about a mixed bag of opinions!
